Chef Irfan Pabaney has been appointed as the Country Head at SodaBottleOpenerWala.
SodaBottleOpenerwala today is the largest brand of the Olive Bar and Kitchen Group, in terms of presence in the country, with a total of 8 outlets across 4 cities. He has 27 years of experience and he joins SodaBottleOpenerWala with a strong vision for the brand’s menu offerings while retaining their quintessential spirit of a Bombay Irani Café. This will be along with taking the brand a notch above in terms of hospitality and brand equity.
According to Chef Irfan, “I am excited to join a hospitality group that is one of the leaders in the industry. My focus will be to make the Parsi Irani and Bombay Street Food spread even more exciting at SodaBottleOpenerWala! At the same time as a brand, we intend to keep getting more young, quirky and vibrant.” While the most loved and popular signatures such as Berry Pulao, Dhansak, Salli Chicken, and Parsi Mutton Masala roast will continue to be a part of the menu, there will be some surprises that should be interesting.
“I truly believe in the ethos of SodaBottleOpenerWala i.e. to keep the dying legacy of the Bombay Irani Cafe alive, the essence of which will vividly reflect in the new menu that me and my team are planning for the near future. We promise an experience that will be the perfect blend of the much adored quintessential Irani Cafe, and yet an enhanced culinary experience……………watch this space for more!”

Chef Irfan Pabaney was born in Bogota, Colombia and lived the first four years of his life in South America, thanks to his father being with the United Nations. Chef Irfan Pabaney has been at the helm of some of the most notable restaurants, in the 27 years that he has been in this business. Under the Over, Seijo and the Soul Dish, Indigo and Hakkasan have been some of the restaurants that he has been associated with. 20 years later he finally decided to branch out on his own along with his partner and co-owner to start their dream restaurant, The Sassy Spoon.
