New insights reveal how Indian Travellers in Florida are shaping Central tourism landscape

Indian travellers are displaying a deepening connection with Central Florida, according to a new report by Experience Kissimmee. The study reveals compelling insights into who these visitors are, what motivates their journeys, and why Kissimmee remains one of the most beloved U.S. destinations among Indian tourists.
The findings indicate that the average Indian traveller visiting the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford area in 2024 was between 35 and 39 years old, with a majority travelling solo or with family and friends. Middle-aged travellers with young children make up nearly a third of the market, planning their trips nearly three months in advance and booking flights about six weeks before departure.
Sightseeing, shopping, and theme park visits top the list of preferred activities, while nearly a quarter of travellers also include Miami in their itineraries. Digital media continues to influence travel decisions significantly, with YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook emerging as the most-used platforms. Inspiration often comes through posts shared by friends and family, highlighting the social dimension of travel planning.
On average, Indian visitors stay in Florida for about 31 nights, spending around USD 4,339 per trip and USD 5,838 per travel party. The majority of their budget goes toward accommodation, followed by food, beverages, and recreation. Most travellers opt for hotels or motels, while a smaller segment prefers vacation homes for longer stays.
The study also reveals that 60 percent of Indian visitors rent a car during their stay, while more than a quarter take domestic flights within the United States. Airlines remain the most trusted source of travel information, followed by personal recommendations and online travel agencies. Florida ranks as the third most preferred U.S. state among Indian tourists, particularly during January and May, when travel interest peaks.

The average annual household income of Indian travellers stands at USD 49,387, with more than half earning above USD 60,000. They describe the United States as friendly, welcoming, energetic, and relaxing—qualities that align perfectly with the warm, family-friendly atmosphere of Kissimmee.
The research underscores a growing trend among Indian travellers seeking immersive, meaningful experiences that blend relaxation with adventure.
With its inviting charm, world-class attractions, and year-round sunshine, Kissimmee continues to be the perfect match for travellers who seek connection, comfort, and unforgettable memories.
