1000 Island Hotels and Resorts appoints Laurent Guiraud as COO to elevate service design and experiences

1000 Island Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Laurent Guiraud as Chief Operating Officer, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s journey toward redefining luxury hospitality through people-first leadership, thoughtful service design, and transformative guest experiences.
A Distinguished Hospitality Leader
Laurent Guiraud is a French restaurateur and internationally respected hospitality professional. Born in Paris, he comes from a country where cuisine is regarded as an art form and hospitality as a way of life—values that have profoundly shaped his career and philosophy.
As a hospitality leader and mentor, Laurent Guiraud’s journey is shaped by a commitment to crafting experiences that connect people, culture, and cuisine. With a strong leader’s mindset and a global perspective, his path has naturally expanded across haute cuisine, operational excellence, education, and people leadership. For Laurent, hospitality is not merely an offering—it is a process of collective creation, where each gesture, menu, interaction, and service excellence contributes to a meaningful, lasting experience.
Shaping the Future of 1000 Island Hotels & Resorts

As Chief Operating Officer at 1000 Island Hotels and Resorts, Laurent’s vision continues to shape the brand’s ethos—championing people-first leadership, thoughtful service design, and luxury hospitality standards that are simultaneously authentic, regenerative, and transformative. His journey is a testament to how hospitality, at its finest, can connect people, processes, communities, and experiences, leaving a lasting imprint on both individuals and the place. This philosophy, in its truest sense, is what the retreat embodies—playing a pivotal role in advancing the brand and elevating operational excellence.
Marking his presence as a modern hospitality champion, Laurent leads ventures that reflect both refinement and human impact. His work spans world-renowned Michelin-star restaurants in the Pays Basque region of France to acclaimed dining destinations in New Delhi and Goa, each shaped by his rare ability to combine European culinary rigour with a nuanced understanding of local markets. Together with his collaborators, he has shaped spaces that honour both craft and context, bringing design, culture, and operational excellence into harmony.
In India, Laurent’s contributions extend beyond cuisine. He co-launched Manre Restaurant with Ramola Bachchan, played a pivotal role in developing and expanding the Olive Restaurant Group, and guided future hospitality leaders as Director at Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School in Gurugram. His work in Rajasthan as Director – People & Culture for the Suryagarh Collection strengthened organisational culture, aligned leadership, and refined service philosophy across a luxury portfolio.
