EgyptAir hosted a curated product showcase and networking evening in Jalandhar on April 10, 2026, bringing together key travel trade partners from across Punjab for an evening focused on engagement, alignment, and recognition

Timed alongside Baisakhi, the evening brought together 100+ key stakeholders from Punjab’s travel and tourism ecosystem. The initiative was thoughtfully planned to go beyond a conventional presentation, reflecting the airline’s intent to celebrate its association with the Punjab market while expressing gratitude to its valued travel trade partners who have played a pivotal role in the airline’s growth journey in the region.

The evening was led by Amr Aly, Country Manager, EgyptAir, who is currently on a 7-day multi-city visit across Punjab, accompanied by Rajat Chadha, Sales Manager, EgyptAir covering Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar. The visit is part of a focused effort to strengthen relationships, engage directly with the trade, share future growth plans, and deepen EgyptAir’s presence in one of North India’s evolving outbound markets.
Speaking during the visit, Amr Aly said: “It was important for us to be here, on the ground, engaging directly with our partners across Punjab. This market has consistently contributed to our growth, and the strength of that contribution lies in the relationships we’ve built over time.
The Jalandhar engagement, especially a few days before Baisakhi, was our way of acknowledging that partnership, not just through conversations on business, but through presence and appreciation. As we look ahead, we remain committed to strengthening our connection with this market and supporting its evolving travel demand.”

Adding to this, Rajat Chadha, Sales Manager, EgyptAir, shared, “Punjab continues to demonstrate strong and sustained travel demand across leisure, business, and Visiting Friends or Relatives (VFR) segments, making it a strategically important region for EgyptAir’s India operations. In many ways, Punjab is our backbone in North India.
Through this engagement, we’ve highlighted Egypt’s strong and evolving connection with India across multiple dimensions including a relationship that dates back to 1954 with films like Naaz being shot in the country and has since evolved. From iconic films like The Great Gambler and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to recent projects like Jaadugar by Yo Yo Honey Singh, filmed in Egypt with end-to-end support from the EgyptAir India team.
We also see strong interest driven by Egypt’s expanding tourism infrastructure, including the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the largest museums in the world, along with our operational agility; from managing time-sensitive movements to recently coordinating a charter for the British cricket team within 24 hours amid regional unrest, working closely with authorities.”
During the event, EgyptAir shared a series of on-ground insights reflecting its approach of going beyond connectivity to building stronger cultural, economic, and experiential relevance in the India market, while positioning Egypt as a multi-dimensional partner to India.
Among the standout highlights of the evening were:
EgyptAir’s passenger-first initiatives, including its Stopover Paid by Carrier (STPC) programme – where transit travellers with extended layovers are offered complimentary hotel stays, effectively turning a wait into a stay.
Building on this, for tickets issued in April 2026, the airline is also extending a complimentary 2-hour Nile River cruise experience, positioning transit not as downtime, but as a curated introduction to Egypt, reinforcing its philosophy:
“With EgyptAir, your journey doesn’t stop — it begins.”
This is further complemented by a limited-period 30% fare benefit on bookings made during the same period.

Equally significant was the spotlight on the Punjab–Egypt economic corridor, particularly in the cotton and textile sector. With Punjab being one of India’s strongest cotton-producing regions and Egypt home to the globally renowned textile hub El Mahalla El Kubra, the dialogue moved beyond trade to a shared legacy of craftsmanship, scale, and global relevance.
What made this connection even more compelling was its personal resonance as El Mahalla El Kubra is not only the heart of Egypt’s textile industry, but also the birthplace of Mr Amr Aly, adding a unique depth and authenticity to the conversation as well as opening up a compelling narrative of supply chain synergy and bilateral trade potential.
From competitive yarn sourcing and manufacturing alignment to the potential for Punjab to significantly expand its presence in Egypt’s textile ecosystem, this convergence presents a high-value, future-forward trade opportunity where scale, quality, and pricing power come together to unlock mutual growth.
Positioned as more than a business discussion, the vision was encapsulated as, “Bridging traditions, building prosperity; from Punjab’s fields to Egypt’s textiles; a partnership woven for the future.”

With a legacy spanning over 90 years, EgyptAir’s India strategy today extends well beyond aviation; encompassing tourism, cinema, trade, and cultural exchange, with a clear focus on building a more integrated market presence.
Building on this momentum, EgyptAir will continue to deepen its footprint across India, with a series of future engagements and focused market initiatives expected to follow, with further updates to be shared soon.
