Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield appoints Sijo John as Director of Finance to oversee operations and compliance
Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield has announced the appointment of Sijo John as Director of Finance. In his new role, John will oversee the hotel’s financial operations, budgeting, compliance and financial planning.
John has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector, including more than 13 years with Marriott International. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director of Finance at JW Marriott Bengaluru. He has also held finance leadership roles at JW Marriott Bengaluru, Fairfield by Marriott Whitefield, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru and Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport.
His earlier experience includes roles at Zitahli Resorts & Spa, Maldives, Dream Hotel Cochin and Birla Public School.
John holds an MBA from ICFAI University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Aloysius College, Edathuva. His areas of work include budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss management, cash flow, working capital, compliance, capital expenditure planning and business planning.
During his tenure with Marriott International, he received recognitions including the Owner Relationship Award at the South Asia Finance Conference 2025 and the South Asia Finance Breakout Summit 2023, the 2024 APEC Quarterly Award for forecast accuracy in the luxury segment, the Cash Flow Excellence Award at the Bengaluru Market Annual Director of Finance Meet 2024, and the Leadership Award for 2023 at JW Marriott Bengaluru.
In his previous roles, John has worked on annual budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, audit readiness, financial governance and business performance. He also handled finance-related responsibilities during a Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process from January 2024 to January 2025.
