Polo Hotels Group has announced the launch of Chapter Hotels & Resorts, a new lifestyle hospitality brand focused on upscale boutique properties across destinations in Northeast India and other markets

The new brand has been developed as an addition to the Polo Hotels Group portfolio and will focus on properties where design, food and beverage, leisure facilities and destination-specific experiences form part of the overall hotel offering.
According to the company, the brand will draw on Polo Hotels Group’s more than three decades of hospitality operations in Northeast India. The portfolio will include a mix of owned, managed and retrofit properties.
The first property under the brand will be Chapter Lakeside, Tripura, a 17-key resort located on the shores of Rudrasagar Lake, approximately 90 minutes from Agartala airport. The property is scheduled to open later this year and will offer views of Neermahal Palace from the pool and several guest rooms.
Facilities at Chapter Lakeside will include a lake-view swimming pool, poolside bar, all-day dining and boat transfers. Its food and beverage offering will include dishes influenced by Kokborok and Mui Borok culinary traditions, with ingredients such as local herbs, river fish, bamboo shoots and banana flowers. The bar will incorporate local botanicals and elements of Tripura’s craft beverage culture.
The group’s second property under the brand will be Chapter Resort Upper Shillong, a 37-key resort located in Meghalaya. The property is being developed amid paddy fields and will include a swimming pool as a central feature of the resort.
The brand’s food and beverage concept, Cassette Kitchen & Bar, will be introduced across Chapter properties. The concept will focus on regional ingredients and culinary influences, with individual properties adapting their offerings to the local destination.

Deval Tibrewalla, WTD & CEO, Hotel Polo Towers, said, “We called it ‘Chapter’ because every hotel opens a new part of the destination for the guest. Same brand energy, different local story. The plan is to build more soon — each with its own voice.”
Chapter Hotels & Resorts is being introduced as the Northeast tourism and hospitality sector continues to see increased interest, supported by improving connectivity, destination development and investment in tourism infrastructure.

Deval Tibrewalla, added, “Upscale is not expensive wallpaper. It is good decisions. Put the pool where the view is. Cook food from the region. Build a bar with a point of view. Keep it sharp, warm and local. That is Chapter.”
The company has also identified a pipeline of potential properties across West Bengal, Nagaland and other locations in Northeast India, including heritage properties, hill destinations, cultural towns and leisure markets.
The brand’s development model will include owned, managed and retrofit properties, with the group focusing on upscale accommodation, food and beverage facilities, leisure amenities and destination-specific design and experiences.
