Breitling has introduced the Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 Kapoor Watch Co. Edition to mark the retailer’s 59th anniversary
Limited to 59 pieces, the watch combines a blue dial with a black ceramic bezel inlay and 18k gold details. The edition debuted at Hours & Icons, Kapoor Watch Co.’s three-day watchmaking event in New Delhi. It is the second Superocean Heritage edition Breitling has created for the retailer and is available exclusively through five Kapoor Watch Co. stores across Delhi NCR and Pune.
Blue Dial, Gold Details
The watch has a 42 mm stainless-steel case measuring 12.03 mm thick. A black ceramic bezel inlay frames the blue dial, with 18k gold used for the hands, indexes and screw-down crown.
The collection’s arrow-shaped hour hand and spear-shaped minute hand are retained, alongside pointed indexes and a date window at six o’clock. Each watch is engraved “One of 59”.
A black mesh-rubber strap with a folding clasp completes the watch. Sapphire glass covers the dial, while a transparent caseback provides a view of the movement. Water resistance is rated to 200 metres.
Manufacture Caliber B31
The edition uses Breitling’s Manufacture Caliber B31, a self-winding mechanical movement displaying hours, minutes, seconds and the date. It offers approximately 78 hours of power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, equivalent to 4 hertz.
The movement is a COSC-certified chronometer.
The Collection’s Origins
The Superocean Heritage draws on Breitling’s original SuperOcean watches from 1957, when the company introduced both a chronograph and a time-only model. Developed during Willy Breitling’s leadership, the watches featured rotating bezels and designs intended for underwater use.
The current collection retains elements of those early models, including the distinctive hand shapes and rotating bezel. This edition pairs those features with the B31 movement and a blue, black and gold colour scheme.
Marking 59 Years
Kapoor Watch Co. was founded in 1967 by watchmaker D.S. Kapoor, who opened his first store in South Extension, New Delhi. The business is now led by the third generation of the Kapoor family.
The edition’s production run of 59 watches corresponds to the retailer’s 59 years in business.
