Accor, a global leader in augmented hospitality, announced the opening of its second Grand Mercure, at Gopalan Signature Mall in the ever-evolving start-up capital of the country, Bengaluru.
A melting point of diverse cultures and traditions, Bengaluru is known as the IT capital spearheading the country’s technological boom. This is Accor’s sixth hotel in Bengaluru and seventh property in Karnataka for guests to experience flavours, art, and culture of the state.
The hotel is inspired by the iconic Hoysala architecture, incorporating local touchpoints to the overall ambiance. Sited next to Gopalan Signature Mall, Grand Mercure Bengaluru features 212 well-equipped rooms and suites, complemented by a multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant – La Utsav.
The restaurant features a celebration of flavours of the cuisine Karnataka treasures bringing back ‘the lost recipes’ weaved in with a global palette. A quintessential part of the South Indian breakfast culture is filter coffee, with its distinctive addition of chicory, is served in the ‘dawra’, a true south Indian way. To make the perfect coffee, the hotel sources its coffee beans from the oldest organic estate in Yelligudige, Chikmagalur.
To pay homage to the beginning of Hoysala Empire, Grand Mercure Bengaluru at Gopalan Mall has named its lobby bar after this era – 1026 AD. It is an alfresco space; casual yet rustic and perfect to unwind after a busy day of work. The menu features a great selection of local favourites and speciality coffees including Vietnamese, Turkish, Chemex and vacuum coffee.

The signature fragrance at the hotel is a mix of Mysore sandalwood, which was once a symbol of royalty for the state and continues to be one of the most expensive fragrances in the world and vetiver, an endemic fragrance from the grass family.
