Brij Hotels, part of the IHCL brandscape, has announced the opening of Brij Tara, Ranthambore, on October 11, 2026

A private 17-key retreat spread across nine acres at the edge of Ranthambore National Park, Brij Tara offers an intimate way to experience one of Rajasthan’s most evocative landscapes, bringing together the thrill of the wilderness with the quiet rhythms of a Rajasthani home.

Speaking on the opening, Udit Kumar, Co-Founder, Brij Hotels, said, “Ranthambore has a rare ability to bring together the thrill of the wild with a deep sense of stillness. With Brij Tara, we wanted to create a retreat that allows guests to experience both the excitement of the forest and the warmth & slower rhythms of Rajasthan. Every aspect of the property has been designed to make the destination itself an integral part of the stay.”
The property comprises luxury villas, cottages and suites, each equipped with either a private garden or heated plunge pool. At the heart of the property is a private lake, offering a quiet setting, whether over breakfast, an evening by the water or a few hours spent there.
Brij Tara brings together the character of a Rajasthani home with the intimacy of a retreat. The property offers a setting from which to experience Ranthambore beyond safari activities.
Beyond the Tiger
The tiger is a key part of the Ranthambore experience, with guests able to venture into the national park on a tiger safari. Brij Tara also offers other activities in the region.
A Chambal crocodile safari and river cruise takes guests along the Chambal River at Pali Ghat, while Surwal birdwatching focuses on the region’s resident and migratory birdlife. Other activities include horseback riding, guided treks, morning nature walks with a naturalist, and visits to Ranthambore Fort and the Trinetra Ganesha Temple. The Story of Tigers covers the behaviours, territories and histories of tigers in the region.
Local cultural activities include folk music and dance, lac bangle making, tota-wala astrology and Dastkar Ranthambore. Other activities include cooking sessions, spice mixing, arts and crafts at the Baithak, and farming and sapling plantation activities. The property also has Arama Spa and offers Sunrise Yoga.
Design & Decor
The buildings are finished in an earthy paint shade resembling traditional mud plaster. Natural stone is used across the property. Interiors feature refined furnishings, handcrafted surfaces and hand-painted walls depicting jungle-inspired imagery. Locally sourced elements from around Ranthambore were also incorporated into the design.
The property includes a large man-made lake, which creates a visual axis through the site and adds water to the landscape.
Rajasthan, Served at Its Own Pace
Brij Tara offers dining options that draw from Rajasthan’s culinary traditions. Tara Mahal is the all-day dining restaurant, serving dishes based on traditional Rajasthani recipes and cooking techniques, including khad pits, sigri coals and open-fire cooking.
Mehfil is the main bar, while Talaab is the pool bar, serving wood-fired flatbreads, charcoal-grilled dishes and other food options.
Other dining options include High Tea by the Resort Lake, private dinners by the lake, Dinner at the Machan on a raised platform overlooking the landscape, and Jungle High Tea in the Jeep.
