Fairmont Mumbai has announced the appointment of Chandra Sekhar D as Director of Finance
Chandra brings nearly two decades of experience in hospitality finance, with a background in financial management, strategic planning, compliance, business partnering, hotel openings and operations. In his new role, he will oversee the hotel’s finance function, including financial planning, governance, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, risk management and cost control.
Before joining Fairmont Mumbai, Chandra served as Cluster Director of Finance at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel, Nepal. His previous roles also include finance leadership positions with Marriott Hotels India, JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa, The Ascott Limited and The Raintree Hotels.
His experience includes hotel pre-openings, finance systems implementation, process improvement, financial reporting, audits and cost management across hospitality markets.

Chandra is also involved in mentoring young professionals and has an interest in teaching and chess. He supports continuous learning and the use of technology in finance functions.
In his new role, Chandra will work with the hotel’s leadership team on financial strategy, operational processes and business planning.
