Chef Akshay Bhardwaj has been appointed as the new Head Chef at Andaz Delhi

With extensive culinary experience, Chef Akshay has worked across the globe with some iconic names in the industry. 

Akshay began his career in hospitality in July 2008 with ISTA 5* Luxury Hotels (now Hyatt). For the next few years, he completed various culinary internships with Le Chatelain Hotel in Brussels, Wildflower Hall (Oberoi Resort) in Shimla, Hotel Vatel in Nimes, France, and at Le Bateau Ivre (a 2* Michelin Star Restaurant) under celebrity chef Jean Pierre Jacob.

In 2011, he joined Oceania Cruises, an upper premium cruise line, as Demi Chef de Partie. In 2012, he came to India and joined Pullman Hotels as Chef de Partie from where, in April 2013, he moved to Canada and joined saw ridge hotels Alberta in the same role. For the next three years, Chef Akshay worked in Canada and Denmark before returning to India in August 2016 as the Executive Chef for the pre-opening of Whisky Samba in Gurgaon.

Two years later, he became the Corporate Chef at Eastman Colour Restaurants Pvt. Ltd (La Roca, Aerocity, and Unplugged Courtyard in Connaught Place and Gurgaon). His last assignment was with the ITC Maurya, Delhi as an Executive Sous Chef.   

Speaking on his appointment, Chef Akshay said, From clan to tribe, Andaz Delhi Tribe is all about how one works differently to make a difference. That’s the andaz of Andaz – to learn, to progress, and to implement whatever it takes to make a difference.

Akshay holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Hospitality and International Tourism from Ecole Hôtelière Vatel Nimes, France as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel; Hospitality Administration from IHM Gurdaspur. 

He has travelled to over 20 countries and loves to explore and learn from the culture and cuisine of all places he visits. He is also a professional coin collector. Besides food, Chef Akshay loves to read books in his free time.
