Swiss watchmaker Gallet 1826 returns for its 200th anniversary with four collections manufactured through Breitling’s infrastructure
Gallet has returned to the watch market two centuries after its founding in 1826, with four collections spanning travel, aviation, motorsport and classic chronograph design. The revived Swiss watchmaker is now manufactured through Breitling’s infrastructure.
Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1826, Gallet developed timing instruments and chronographs associated with aviation, motor racing, sailing and exploration. Its history includes watches connected with the Wright Brothers’ first powered flight, early intercontinental aviation and American racing driver Rex Mays.
The company became particularly associated with chronographs designed for professional and sporting use. Its return places this historical identity at the centre of a new generation of watches while bringing production under Breitling.

Gallet watches are manufactured using Breitling’s production infrastructure, with the company also providing after-sales support and international distribution.
Gallet Managing Director Erwan Rossignol said the arrangement allows the revived brand to retain elements of its historical identity while operating within an established contemporary watchmaking structure.
Four Collections Mark Gallet’s Return
The relaunched range consists of four collections across three watch families: the Flying Officer, Multichron Pilot, Multichron Sport and Gallet Classics.
The watches feature interchangeable quick-release straps, with leather, rubber, field and fabric versions available alongside stainless-steel bracelets.
The Flying Officer takes its name and design references from one of Gallet’s best-known historical watches. Originally developed in connection with early intercontinental travel, the model was distinguished by a city ring that allowed users to reference time across different locations.
Elements from vintage Flying Officer watches have also influenced the visual identity of the relaunched brand, including an orange-and-green colour palette.
The Multichron family draws on Gallet’s history of functional chronographs. The Multichron Pilot is linked to the company’s aviation and exploration heritage, while the Multichron Sport references its association with motorsport and racing.
For its 200th anniversary, Gallet is also introducing three special-edition watches within the Gallet Classics collection. These models use Breitling’s Calibre B09, a hand-wound manufacture chronograph movement.
The relaunch places Gallet alongside Breitling and Universal Genève within the group’s portfolio of Swiss watch brands, bringing the 200-year-old name back into production with a range centred on several of its historical watch categories.
