This initiative marks the Ministry’s first comprehensive partnership with a global technology company, bringing together the Ministry’s mandate to shape India’s tourism future with Google’s expertise in integrated technology, actionable data insights, and creating new engagement channels. Designed as a collaborative and knowledge-sharing framework, this strategic MoU aims to support the Ministry in creating a seamless and enriching travel ecosystem that drives both economic benefits and social impact across Indian destinations.

The collaboration is structured around three pillars:

  • Collaborative Insights into Travel Trends: To support informed decision-making and strategic planning, Google will provide comprehensive dashboards designed to assess critical global travel demand. This will enable the Ministry to monitor the pulse of the ever-changing travel market and allow for agile responses to emerging patterns in traveler behaviour.
  • Seamless Visual Discovery: The Incredible India app will continue to explore stronger digital discovery and navigation experiences through Google Maps integration. Simultaneously, YouTube will help guide the Ministry in scaling authentic content creation and dissemination while optimizing the Incredible India channel to reach a broader global demographic.
  • Building Digital Tourism Muscle: To foster greater independence and institutional expertise, Google will offer hands-on training sessions for practitioners and officers at the Ministry of Tourism. This capability-building initiative will equip participants with the essential skills required to effectively manage, optimise, and monitor digital campaigns.

“India is one of the most searched travel destinations globally, yet much of its diversity remains to be fully discovered digitally,” said Preeti Lobana, Country Manager, Google India. “This collaboration is our commitment to closing that gap. From sharing insights on the dynamic landscape of global travel to empowering the Ministry’s teams with strategic digital skills, every element is designed to support the Ministry’s vision. We are proud to partner with the Ministry to build a blueprint for sustained digital excellence.”

This collaboration will be governed by a joint review structure to ensure the timely delivery of its core milestones. This partnership underscores Google’s ongoing commitment to organizing the world’s information while creating lasting public value through collaboration with government institutions.
