Harikishore S, a 2008-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, has been appointed as the new Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. His tenure will be for five years or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

The appointment is seen as a key move to strengthen the Ministry’s operations and strategic focus at a time when India is working to expand its tourism footprint globally.

Harikishore brings extensive administrative experience to the post, a factor expected to aid in steering the Ministry’s policies and programmes.
