ohn Mathulla has been appointed as Executive Assistant Manager by Holiday Inn Chennai OMR IT Expressway. Armed with more than a decade-long experience, John Mathulla has mastered the art of hotel operations and other responsibilities, to ensure an experience for the guest right from where they first come into contact with the hotel and staff, and to leave lasting impressions. Known for his cooperative yet go-getter attitude and excellent communication skills, Mathulla’s potential to remain calm whilst under pressure truly sets him apart.

Having previously worked with a plethora of 5-star hotel chains, such as ITC Hotels & Resorts, Oberoi, Starwood Luxury Collection, and with IHG for few years now, Mathulla remains positive, pro-active and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment. He is well versed with the brand style of IHG & developed necessary operational skills that keep up to the brand expectation, as his last assignment was at Crowne Plaza Kochi as Rooms Division Manager and continues to be the ‘South Area Champion for Guest Experience and Continuous Improvement’ for IHG. Though every day comes with the challenges, surprises and learning, hotel operations become more of a passion than just a profession for him.
Leading the hotel as the second-in-command, Mathulla is believed to bring about some positive vibes at the new workplace since Holiday Inn Chennai already have a great team & has set some bench-marking performances in the region. He would look forward to supporting them as a leader in achieving their full potential and in the process have a great reverse learning from their vast experiences.
Originally from God’s own country, Kerala, Mathulla loves the idea of meeting new people, travelling and exploring different cuisines. “Leadership is the ability to articulate a vision and walk the path so that you inspire others to rise above the banality and strife of their own existence and achieve that higher goal,” believes Mathulla.
