Keralavoyages receives Travelife Partner Award

Cochin based Keralavoyages India Pvt Ltd, Cochin has officially obtained the Travelife Partner award as the first in Kerala. This award is a recognition for the long-term efforts and front runner position regarding sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism.

Keralavoyages India Pvt Ltd complies with more than 100 criteria, related to an operators’ office management, product range, international business partners and customer information. All their Sustainable Management Team are now Travelife trained and qualified Sustainability Managers.

Naut Kusters, Manager of Travelife for Tour Operators stated, “I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operators sector is obtaining momentum. The award of the first few tourism companies in India sets an example for the whole Indian tourism sector. It will inspire other companies to follow the same path”.

Keralavoyages is managed by a team of committed professionals headed by  George Scaria, Managing Director and Rajeev Gopinathan, Operations Director. George Scaria is also a guest lecturer on Sustainable Tourism at MCI Management Centre Innsbruck University, Austria, one of the leading Tourism Universities in Europe.

Travelife, which has been established with the support of the European Commission, is the leading international sustainability certification in the travel sector. More than 35 national travel associations are promoting the scheme to their members including ABTA, PATA, and ANVR. Since 2012, more than 1000 tour operators have been trained in CSR in partnership travel associations. They are now working step-by-step towards more sustainable operations.
