Environmental issues are a prime concern nowadays. The underlying reason for environmental pollution is deforestation. This has a cascading effect on the water table, soil erosion, greenhouse effect and many others. To work towards curbing this, CM Devendra Fadnavis conducted tree plantation drives. 

Recently, Mahindra Mahindra Accelo, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, along with other corporates, conducted a tree plantation drive in Shivajinagar, Pune. Saurabh Rao, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation; Milind Deouskar, Divisional Railway Manager; Prafulla Chandra, Additional Divisional Railway Manager; Sanjay Saxena, Director Radisson Blu Pune Hinjawadi Pune; Suneel Kamthan, President of Kaystha Parivar, Pune and Diwakar Srivastava, Chief, Commercial Mahindra Accelo, were also present at this event.

During the drive the guests along with the organisers pledged to plant 1,000 saplings.The drive also gave participants an opportunity to adopt a sapling.
Mahindra Accelo, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, is committed to focus its CSR efforts on Education, Environment & Health. Under the aegis of “Mahindra Hariyali”, tree plantation is undertaken. Nation-wide target of planting 1 million trees involves all the companies in Mahindra Group. Mahindra Accelo, has already built a Junior College to provide Higher Secondary Education access to Village Girls. It has also built a well-equipped Play Park for village children.
A walking track has been made to help villagers to walk for health in hygienic way. Under “Nanhi Kali” initiative, it is supporting approximately 2,900 girls from very poor families to avail education up to High School across Pune District.
The company has also helped 13 village girls to become qualified nurses and get gainful employment. With the help of Indian Red Cross Society, Pune, the company reached out to 60 thalassemic children and helped them with the entire year’s medication expenses.
