Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills recently supported YoDee Foundation, for the launch of Women on Wheels — Hyderabad’s first women-for-women cab service. To begin with, four Celerio CNG cars have been rolled out on the occasion of International Women’s Day, on March 8, by Smt Satyavathi Rathod, Women & Children Welfare Minister, Govt of Telangana.

What is WOW?WOW is the brainchild of YoDee (Yosha Deedithi) Foundation. It is supported by Government of Telangana, Dept. of Women Development & Children Welfare. TSRTC, Transport Department, Police, Sultan-Ul-Uloom Education Society, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills, We Connect, Area 9 Ladies Circle of Round Table India and others. Four women drivers, D. Sharada, V. Dhanalakshmi, M Soujanya and T. Sharada, out of the total 36 women who have been trained zoomed into service yesterday, on the occasion of International Women’s Day. To begin with, the service is initially available during the day time and subsequently, it will be extended for more hours shared Ms. Jyotsna Angara, Founder of YoDee (Yosha Deedithi) Foundation. YoDee foundation is working to empower women socially, economically and professionally.
Officials SpeakSandeep Joshi, General Manager, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills stated, “We are proud to be associated with the launch of Women on Wheels, as it perfectly aligns with the Responsible Business program of Radisson Hotel Group. It is a great initiative that aims to empower women and is centered around women safety. We, at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills, offer part-time work options for new mothers and are constantly on a look out to hire more women employees. In fact, we also have women HODs as we believe in gender parity and offer equal work opportunities. By associating with this event as Hospitality partner, we want to send the message that we stand for the cause of women safety and women empowerment.”
An all-Women’s Car Rally and Treasure Hunt was held on March 8, International Women’s Day, at Muffakham Jah College grounds, Banjara Hills for the launch event. The flag-off from the college led the participants to Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills at the end of the treasure hunt. This was followed by award ceremony, to be concluded over lunch at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills. The award ceremony was held for various categories such as Best designed Car, Treasure Hunt Winner and more. A total of 40 cars participated, with women getting up in the wee hours of the morning to provide an enthusiastic support to the cause.
