The Westin Mumbai Garden City appoints Akshay Sood as Director of Food and Beverage

Akshay Sood has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at The Westin Mumbai Garden City. In his new role, Sood will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the food and beverage department and delivering excellent guest experiences. He will be leading the Food & Beverage team and his role entails introduction of new menus, upholding Westin’s brand standards, ensure high quality service, increase food & beverage profitability, and conceptualise brand centric wellness food & beverage offerings.

Akshay Sood is a highly result-oriented, versatile hospitality professional. He is a dynamic individual with decisive leadership, management and guidance skills with a proven ability to manage operations in an intensely competitive environments. He believes in taking risks and synergising operations to enhance employee performance for peak organizational effectiveness.
Sood’s career began as a management trainee in Food and Beverage department, with Park Hotels Group. He brings along with him an experience of luxury brands like Kempinski and JW Marriott with exposure in restaurants and events which enable him to have a holistic approach to Food and Beverage Management. His expertise lies in handling a diverse range of functions entailing Start up’s, F&B Operations, Training and Budgeting.
In his leisure time, Sood likes to listen to music and play with his son.
