The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts announced the appointment of Umapathy Amirtham as the General Manager of The Leela Ashtamudi, a Raviz Hotel.
With an overall experience of 25 years, Umapathy Amirtham is an acknowledged hospitality professional having held key positions across every levels within the Rooms Division.
He is an enthusiastic hotelier with domestic and international experience across India and the UAE. He brings with him cross-cultural experiences and business acumen with effective management expertise. Prior to joining The Leela group, he was associated with renowned hospitality brands like The Hyatt in Goa, Dubai, and Chennai, Umaid Bhavan Palace Jodhpur, Windsor Manor Sheraton Towers Bangalore, and ITC Kakatiya Hyderabad amongst others.

Umapathy Amirtham began his journey with The Leela Palace Chennai in March 2016 as Room Division Manager and was promoted to EAM in April 2018. In April 2021 he was promoted and transferred to The Leela Palace Jaipur as Hotel Manager where he was heading operations with a focus on driving guest experience, process-driven enhancement of guest feedback, Rooms, and Food and Beverage operations including All Day Dining, Specialty Restaurants, Bar, and extensive Banquet facilities anchored by high-end weddings.
Amirtham was instrumental in the implementation of The Leela Brand Standards across managing departments while ensuring adequate training and development of associates crucial to understanding the needs of a luxury traveler and enhanced guest experience delivery.
