Ventive Hospitality Limited, a leading listed hospitality platform, has announced a significant sector-first salary enhancement by implementing a structured minimum salary of ₹20,000 in hand per month across its Marriott hotels in Pune. This enhancement establishes a new standard for workforce compensation in India’s hospitality sector and reinforces the company’s commitment to employee well-being and long-term workforce stability.

The initiative fulfils a voluntary commitment made in 2024 by CEO Ranjit Batra, positioning Ventive Hospitality as the first Indian hospitality group to introduce a formal minimum pay threshold. The decision aims to strengthen financial security for frontline staff while addressing industry-wide challenges related to retention, rising living costs and talent continuity.

Speaking about the move, Ranjit Batra, Chief Executive Officer, Ventive Hospitality said, “At its heart, this is a future-proof investment in people. When our teams feel respected, supported, and inspired, they create experiences that guests remember and relationships that last. That belief has guided us from the beginning, and it will continue to shape our journey ahead. When we take care of our people, they take care of our guests. That is, and will always remain, our true spirit of hospitality.”

Industry analysts note that hospitality, despite being one of India’s largest employment-generating sectors, has long struggled with wage structures that fall behind the cost of living in major cities and emerging tier two markets. Ventive Hospitality’s minimum salary policy directly addresses these structural challenges and is being viewed as a progressive model for fair pay, workforce stability and future-ready employment practices.

The company’s approach to employee welfare has been a defining part of its culture. During the COVID-19 period, Ventive Hospitality was among the few organisations that continued full wage payments and prioritised holistic employee support, even as the wider industry experienced severe financial pressure.

With this landmark pay reform, Ventive Hospitality reinforces its commitment to building a resilient and empowered workforce, setting a direction that many expect will influence broader employment standards across the Indian hospitality landscape.
