VFS Global unveils new and more spacious Premium Lounge in Chennai

Residents of Chennai can now apply for their visas in the comfort of VFS Global’s Premium Lounge at the Visa Application Centre in Egmore. The centre provides visa services for 25 countries, and applicants to any of these destinations can opt for the Premium Lounge service.

Mr Jeremy Pilmore Bedford, British Deputy High Commissioner, Chennai; Mr Mark Van De Vreken, Consul General, Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium; Ms Catherine Suard, Consule Générale à Pondichéry et Chennai, Consulat General De France and Ms Kornelia Wegener, Head of Visa Section, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, inaugurated the Premium Lounge in a formal ceremony on 27 June 2019.
VFS Global currently runs 17 Premium Lounge facilities across India, and has seen a rapid rise in demand for the service. In the first four months of 2019 alone, a 121% increase in demand for the Premium Lounge has been recorded, over the same period in 2018.
Mr Vinay Malhotra, Regional Group Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, Middle East and China, VFS Global said, “Due to the growing demand for personalised services seen among Indian travellers, we are pleased to extend our Premium Lounge service to Chennai residents. The rise witnessed is testament to the fact that applicants are looking for increased comfort and convenience in their visa application process. We trust that this facility will enhance the visa application experience for all the travellers.”
The Premium Lounge is an optional service, available at an additional cost, that provides end-to-end personalised assistance and professional guidance throughout the visa application process. This includes form-filling assistance, complimentary photo booth and photocopy services, and biometric enrolment, all in a plush ambience, making the complete visa application process quicker, seamless and more private.
