Canopy by Hilton debuts its first Asia Pacific Resort in Okinawa Miyako Island

Hilton has announced the opening of Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort, the brand’s first resort in Asia Pacific, bringing Canopy’s signature blend of locally inspired design, vibrant social spaces and relaxed hospitality to one of Japan’s most breathtaking island destinations

Located in the Twuriba district of Miyako Island City, approximately 15 minutes by car from Miyako Airport and 25 minutes from Miyako Shimojishima Airport, Canopy Okinawa Miyako Island Resort offers convenient access to downtown Miyako Island and the Irabu Ohashi Bridge, placing guests within easy reach of the island’s iconic coastal landscapes.

The resort offers 306 guest rooms, ranging from 35-square-meter Guest Rooms and Deluxe Rooms with private balconies, to expansive 102-square-meter Suites with separate living and bedroom spaces. Crafted to accommodate different travel styles, each of the 11 room types offers a comfortable and inviting retreat,  allowing guests to unwind and embrace the island’s relaxed pace of life. 

Four sophisticated dining and social experiences across the resort draw inspiration from Miyako Island’s seasonal produce and Okinawan culinary traditions, inviting guests to connect and move seamlessly from relaxed daytime moments to vibrant evenings.

The MA-SANS BEACH HOUSE offers a breezy, light-filled setting that evolves throughout the day, from a sumptuous buffet at breakfast to customizable poke bowls at lunch and Japanese tapas at dinner. Every meal is elevated by fresh ingredients, turning everyday dining into something truly special. Grill restaurant CHIIKII showcases locally sourced ingredients at their peak seasonality while SUNBEAR DAY CLUB becomes a lively, social hub, where guests gather at the rooftop for music, tropical cocktails and light bites against sweeping views of the Irabu Ohashi Bridge and Miyako’s stunning sunsets. From May 2026, guests will also be able to enjoy THE ROUND, an outdoor activity lawn with private seating for barbecues and parties. 

Additional facilities include SHIMA SPROUTS FAMILY ZONE, a family-friendly kids’ club with play equipment and games for both children and adults; RETREAT, a dedicated relaxation area where guests can unwind until departure; and a 24-hour ocean view fitness center.
