Indian Hotels Company has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort in Wayanad, Kerala. The brownfield project marks the brand’s entry into the state.

Spread across more than four acres, Tree of Life Wayanad will feature 55 keys and overlook Banasura Lake, with views of the surrounding landscape. The resort will include an all-day dining restaurant and bar, along with wellness and recreational facilities such as a pool and spa.

Speaking on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “As travel preferences continue to evolve towards more immersive, nature-led stays, Wayanad is emerging as a key destination on India’s leisure map. Tree of Life, anchored in authenticity and a deep sense of place, brings its distinctive, experience-led approach to this setting. This signing marks the brand’s debut in Kerala and reflects its focus on expanding in high-potential leisure markets. We are pleased to partner with Saeed Edavankandy for this project.”

Located in the Western Ghats, Wayanad is known for its biodiversity, green landscapes and nature-led tourism appeal. Key attractions in the region include Banasura Dam, Pookode Lake and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. With this signing, IHCL will have 23 hotels in Kerala, including five under development.
