Courtyard by Marriott Tiruchirappalli has announced the appointment of Ashok Sivashankar as its new General Manager, effective 13 August 2026
Ashok brings with him over 16 years of extensive experience with Marriott International, along with a strong foundation in hospitality operations. He began his hospitality career with Taj Hotels in Food & Beverage before transitioning to Front Office Operations.
Since joining Marriott in 2010, Ashok has held several leadership positions across renowned properties, including Front Office Manager at The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, Rooms Division Manager at Courtyard and Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru, Director of Rooms at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Hotel at Brigade Gateway, and Director of Operations at Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa.
Most recently, Ashok served as Hotel Manager at Four Points by Sheraton Ahmedabad, where he played a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, strengthening operational performance, and enhancing guest satisfaction. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to people development, operational excellence, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
With extensive expertise across hotel operations, guest experience, team development, and commercial performance, Ashok brings a strategic and people-focused approach to his new role. His leadership experience across multiple Marriott properties is expected to further strengthen the hotel’s performance and market presence.
In his new role as General Manager, Ashok Sivashankar will focus on establishing Courtyard by Marriott Tiruchirappalli as the preferred choice for both business and leisure travellers in the region. His priorities will include building a high-performing and engaged team, delivering consistent guest experiences, strengthening the hotel’s position in the local market, and driving sustainable commercial performance.
Sharing his vision for the hotel, Ashok said, “My vision is to establish the hotel as the preferred choice for both business and leisure travellers in the region.
