Limited to 100 units, Bucintoro 1976 fuses historic Concorde titanium and Swiss chronograph craftsmanship.

Venezianico’s newest creation is not just a watch. It is a love letter to the golden age of supersonic flight. The Bucintoro 1976 is a chronograph limited to 100 pieces, each carrying within it a restored Lemania 1873 NOS movement and an authentic piece of Concorde itself. It is an object that unites horology, aviation, and cultural memory in a way that few creations have achieved.

Some timepieces do more than measure hours. They preserve the spirit of an era. Concorde was one such marvel, the supersonic jet that between 1976 and 2003 transformed transatlantic travel. Its delta wings and needle nose turned the Atlantic into a three-and-a-half-hour journey at speeds reaching Mach 2.04, over 2,100 kilometres per hour, while cruising at an altitude of 17,000 metres. Its design and performance made it one of the most celebrated icons of the twentieth century.
This is the spirit behind Bucintoro 1976, the second chapter of Venezianico’s Legacy of Time series. The collection pays tribute to milestones that reshaped the human story. Following the success of Bucintoro 1969, which honoured the Apollo missions, this new creation celebrates the beginning of regular supersonic flights across the Atlantic. It marks a moment when humanity redefined its relationship with time and distance.
A Restored Mechanical Heart

At the centre of Bucintoro 1976 beats the Lemania 1873 NOS chronograph calibre, one of the most respected movements in Swiss watchmaking. One hundred of these rare movements were recovered from private European collections and restored by Venezianico’s master watchmaker, Daniele Zorzetto. The restoration took a year and involved rebuilding missing bridges, recreating original 1970s decorations using traditional inking and finishing techniques, and returning each calibre to its authentic character. The result is a mechanical heart that honours the past while ensuring reliability for the future.
Each watch also contains a remarkable detail. A titanium plaque is mounted on the case side, cut from an original Concorde engine blade supplied by Concorde Collectables and certified from lots 3464 and 3335. This titanium-nickel alloy has flown thousands of supersonic hours across the Atlantic. Each plaque bears the edition number in gold engraving, making every piece a unique link between horology and aviation history.
Design That Tells a Story

The design carries the narrative further. The ivory dial with three avio-blue counters recalls the cockpit instruments of Concorde and its inaugural year of supersonic flight. The 42 millimetre 316L steel case is topped with a double domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, giving clarity and a subtle vintage charm. Gold baton indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova® glow in any light, while the gold chronograph seconds hand serves as a tribute to speed.
Collectors will note the internal tachymeter bezel that bears the take-off phases V1, VR and V2, the minute counter referencing Mach 1 and Mach 2, and the hour counter marked Fuel as a nod to Concorde’s precise fuel monitoring. The production run of 100 pieces mirrors the jet’s fuel consumption rate of 17 litres per 100 passengers per 100 kilometres.
Venezianico pairs the watch with its signature Sansovino steel bracelet and a hand-crafted Italian leather strap, offering two distinct wearing experiences. The model is water resistant up to 10 atmospheres, ensuring performance alongside elegance.
Each piece is delivered in a handcrafted oak case made from Venetian briccole, the wooden posts that have guided ships through the lagoon for centuries. Finished in avio blue varnish that recalls Concorde pilots’ uniforms and the dial accents, the case strengthens the connection between Venice, horology, and the legend of supersonic flight.
Bucintoro 1976 celebrates an extraordinary union: time with sky, tradition with progress, craftsmanship with innovation. More than a chronograph, it is a fragment of history, the legacy of two worlds that challenged the limits of human ambition. Through this creation, Venezianico reaffirms its mission to turn historic achievements into enduring works of mechanical art.
