Ananta Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Ananta Spa & Resort, Ujjain, located on Ratadiya Main Road, Bada Nagar Road, Ujjain

The property marks the group’s entry into Madhya Pradesh and one of India’s most significant spiritual destinations.
The property will be developed in two phases. Phase 1, comprising 51 keys, is expected to open shortly, followed by Phase 2 with an additional 65 keys. At full capacity, the property will offer 116 keys across a cottage-style layout designed for pilgrims, leisure travellers, families and events.
The hotel has been developed by Holyland Holidays. The property will operate under Ananta’s management partnership model, aligned with the group’s asset-light growth strategy.
Ujjain is one of the most sacred cities of India and home to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in the country. The city sits on the banks of the Shipra River and draws millions of devotees each year. Its position along the Ujjain-Indore-Omkareshwar corridor places it at the centre of one of central India’s most active pilgrimage and cultural circuits. Indore, the state’s commercial capital, is approximately 55 km away, adding a strong business and events catchment.

Speaking on the signing, Rupam Das, Chief Operating Officer, Ananta Hotels & Resorts (Ananta Global), said, “Ujjain is a city of deep spiritual significance and growing visitor numbers, yet it remains underserved by organised hospitality. The cottage format gives us a distinctive offering in this market, combining the comfort and service standards of a branded property with a setting that allows guests to stay at a relaxed pace. We are delighted to bring Ananta Spa & Resort to one of India’s most revered destinations.”
Ujjain joins a growing portfolio of spiritually significant destinations for the group, following Katra, Somnath and Ajmer. With signings in Jaunpur, Dehradun and others, Ananta Hotels & Resorts continues to deepen its presence across India’s pilgrimage, heritage and emerging leisure corridors.
