Hyatt Regency Kolkata announced the appointment of Darshan Sharma as its new Finance Controller
In this role Darshan is responsible for overseeing financial operations with a strong focus on financial governance, strategic planning, cost control, and compliance. He brings solid expertise in driving financial efficiency, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the hotel’s business objectives. Darshan’s professional strengths include financial planning and analysis, forecasting, internal financial control and revenue optimization. Beyond numbers, he is committed to team building and talent development, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing finance team through mentoring, guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Most recently prior to this Darshan served as Internal Auditor and Associate Director Finance at The Park Hotels, (Kolkata). In this role, he was responsible for overseeing financial controls, audit processes, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring strong governance and alignment with organizational objectives.
Darshan gained diverse professional experience across consultancy, manufacturing, and the credit rating industry, where he developed a strong foundation in financial analysis, risk assessment, compliance, and strategic advisory. This cross‑sector exposure has enhanced his ability to apply best financial practices, analytical rigor, and commercial insight within the hospitality environment.
Darshan has completed his CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a degree in Bachelor of Law (LLB)
