Marriott International has announced the appointment of Elton Hurtis as the new General Manager of Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center

With close to three decades of hospitality experience, including 24 years with Marriott International, Elton brings a leadership philosophy shaped by people, purpose, and long-term performance. Over the years, he has earned a reputation for steering complex operations with quiet confidence, combining strategic rigour with a deeply human approach to hospitality.
Prior to this appointment, Elton served as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, where he led a dynamic five-star hotel within a landmark mixed-use development, strengthening its market positioning and operational resilience. His professional journey also spans key leadership roles at Sheraton Colombo, Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa, and the successful opening of Courtyard by Marriott Bhopal, each assignment marked by sustained guest satisfaction, strong owner partnerships, and the cultivation of high-performing teams.
In his new role, Elton Hurtis will focus on advancing Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield’s position as a preferred address in the city, bringing together operational excellence, inspired teams, and elevated guest experiences that stand the test of time.

He continues to be recognised as a leader who builds with intent, shaping hotels that perform consistently while remaining deeply attuned to their people and purpose.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is a passionate wildlife photographer and a dedicated taekwondo practitioner who has attained the highest level in the discipline. He values time with his family, embodying a balance of discipline, creativity, and warmth that inspires those around him.
