Taj Bush Lodge opens in Greater Kruger, expanding IHCL’s luxury wilderness presence in South Africa

Indian Hotels Company Limited, India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the opening of Taj Bush Lodge, Greater Kruger South Africa, marking the Taj brand’s entry into Greater Kruger with the first of three luxury wilderness lodges.
Located within the Big Five Balule Nature Reserve, the intimate 6-key property has been designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Inspired by the textures and heritage of the region, the lodge features thatched roofs, warm wood accents and earthy tones, creating a refined yet rooted wilderness experience.
Commenting on the opening, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “As Taj steps into Greater Kruger with the first of three luxury wilderness lodges, it brings with it a legacy of over a century of offering exceptional experiences deep rooted in the destination. The opening of Taj Bush Lodge, Greater Kruger strengthens the brand’s presence in the country extending the South African itinerary combining the panoramic landscapes of Cape Town with the wildlife of Kruger National Park.”
Guests can enjoy home-cooked meals that bring together global influences and local heritage, crafted with fresh seasonal produce. The lodge also features Taj’s signature J Wellness Circle, offering holistic therapies in a serene natural setting.
The guest experience has been curated around the wilderness and culture of the region. Offerings include open-air breakfasts in the bush after morning game drives, traditional South African braais under the night sky, full-day safaris in Kruger National Park, Blyde Canyon boat cruises, quad biking through the Maseke Reserve, day trips along the Panorama Route, visits to Jessica the Hippo and the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, along with boat cruises on the Olifants River.
