IHG Strengthens Eastern India Footprint with New Siliguri Signing

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of a management agreement with DC Constructions, the construction arm of Urban Oasis Hospitality, for the development of Holiday Inn Express Siliguri Bagdogra Airport. The 100-key greenfield project, scheduled to open in 2028, underscores IHG’s continued expansion across Eastern India and its focus on strengthening connectivity in key travel corridors.
Strategically located near Bagdogra International Airport, the upcoming hotel will cater to both business and transit travellers. Siliguri serves as a critical commercial hub in West Bengal and a gateway to the Eastern Himalayas, North-East India, and the neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Holiday Inn Express Siliguri Bagdogra Airport, marking another milestone in our expansion across strategic gateway cities in India.”
He continued, “This signing exemplifies the growth momentum of our Holiday Inn Express brand in India, which continues to be a top choice for guests seeking consistent, modern comfort and for owners looking for a proven, high-return investment.”
Avinash Tiwari, Managing Director, DC Constructions, added: “We are proud to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts for this project. Siliguri’s growing importance as both a travel hub and a commercial destination makes this collaboration particularly exciting.”
He then added, “The new hotel will enhance the city’s hospitality landscape while contributing to its local economy.”
Holiday Inn Express Siliguri Bagdogra Airport joins IHG’s growing India portfolio, which currently includes 51 operational hotels across six brands — Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express — with 72 additional properties in the pipeline over the next three to five years.
