New MakeMyTrip tie-up enables seat-delivered meals on trains at 130+ stations via 40,000+ restaurants
MakeMyTrip has announced a partnership with Zomato to allow train passengers to order meals directly to their seats.
The service will be available to travellers booking train tickets through their app, covering over 40,000 restaurants at 130+ stations.
The move comes amid rising demand for rail e-catering services, with more than 90,000 passengers using Indian Railways’ online meal booking options daily in FY 2024–25, a 66% year-on-year increase.

As part of the launch, travellers booking rail journeys during the Diwali season will receive a complimentary food coupon redeemable on Zomato.
The company has also introduced other technology-based tools to enhance the rail travel experience, including route extension suggestions, nearby station recommendations, seat availability forecasts, real-time train tracking, and live PNR updates.
