Novotel Ahmedabad, a prominent property under the globally acclaimed hospitality group Accor, has announced the appointment of Nikhil Chandra as its new General Manager

With an accomplished hospitality career spanning over two decades, Nikhil brings a rare blend of operational depth, commercial acumen, and strategic leadership to his new role. Having worked with globally respected brands such as Accor, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group, Radisson Hotel Group, and The Lalit Group, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to drive performance while building strong, motivated teams and sustainable business models.
Prior to this appointment, Nikhil Chandra served as General Manager at Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, where he led the property through a phase of strategic consolidation and growth. His tenure was marked by a strong focus on revenue optimisation, operational efficiencies, enhanced yield management, and strengthened food and beverage positioning. He successfully introduced new dining concepts within a regulated environment, ensured full compliance with local governance frameworks, and reinforced brand standards while elevating guest experience benchmarks.
His earlier leadership assignments include heading operations at The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar, as well as holding key executive roles at Crowne Plaza Delhi Mayur Vihar and DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon. Across these assignments, he played an instrumental role in strengthening banquet and event operations, enhancing audit performance, improving guest engagement metrics, and maintaining transparent communication with ownership and regulatory authorities. His ability to align operational strategy with commercial outcomes has been a defining characteristic of his career progression.
Nikhil Chandra is a certified General Manager through IHG’s Career Insight – GM Potential Program and has been recognised for championing brand standards, revenue management excellence, and team development initiatives. He is known for fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability, empowering leadership teams, and anticipating market shifts to proactively position hotels for long-term success.
In his new role at Novotel Ahmedabad, Nikhil will focus on reinforcing the hotel’s market leadership across corporate, MICE, and social segments. His strategic priorities
include strengthening revenue diversification, enhancing digital and direct booking channels, elevating service delivery standards, deepening stakeholder relationships, and embedding sustainable operational practices in line with Accor’s global vision. He will also emphasise talent development, internal capability building, and guest-centric innovation to ensure the hotel remains agile in a rapidly evolving hospitality landscape.
