Commenting on the opening, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said, “Agra does not have a demand problem; it has a depth opportunity. The Taj brings the world to Agra. The opportunity for hospitality is to give travellers compelling reasons to stay longer, explore deeper and experience the city beyond its defining icon.

Our Destination Architect strategy recognises that every destination needs a different intervention. In emerging destinations, we help create discovery; in established destinations like Agra, we build deeper engaging moments that connect them into larger travel circuits. Sterling Regalia Agra strengthens an important node in the Golden Triangle while opening up more of Agra to the a bleisure traveller.

The landmark creates the visit. The destination must create the journey.”

A different perspective on Agra

Sterling Regalia Agra features 36 contemporary rooms, a multi-cuisine diner, versatile event spaces and leisure facilities designed for couples, families, business travellers and small groups.

One of the property’s most distinctive features is its fourth-floor swimming pool with views towards the Taj Mahal, offering guests an unusual perspective on the monument beyond the traditional sightseeing experience.

A top-floor deck provides an intimate setting for private celebrations and special occasions against the backdrop of Agra.

At the lobby level, Regalia Spices brings together flavours inspired by Awadhi, Mughlai and Braj cuisine, alongside popular international favourites. The 40-cover restaurant offers both buffet and à la carte dining, reflecting the region’s rich culinary traditions.

Beyond the hotel, guests can explore Agra at a more relaxed pace—from its Mughal architecture and bustling markets to local cuisine and traditional craftsmanship—turning what is often a monument-led visit into a fuller destination experience.

Speaking on the occasion, Capt. Brijesh Yadav and Dr Rekha Yadav, Owners of Taj Regalia, said, “Our vision was to create an address that does justice to its location—close to one of the world’s most celebrated monuments, yet with a character and experience of its own. Sterling brings strong hospitality expertise, reach and a destination-led approach. Together, we want guests to remember Sterling Regalia Agra not simply for its proximity to the Taj Mahal, but for how they experienced Agra while staying with us.”

Strengthening Sterling’s travel circuits

Agra also strengthens Sterling’s ability to build journeys across destinations rather than isolated stays.

Its location within the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur Golden Triangle, one of India’s most established travel circuits, allows Sterling to participate in a high-intent travel corridor with strong appeal across leisure travellers, families, couples, celebrations and groups.

The opening further advances Sterling’s Destination Architect strategy—building around the role a destination plays in the traveller’s journey.

Some destinations need to be discovered. Others need to be rediscovered. Agra belongs to the latter.
