IHCL celebrates the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, an iconic hotel located in Frankfurt’s trade fair district

The hotel was introduced by General Manager Albert Mayr, Spiridon Sarantopoulos, Senior Vice President, Operations Europe & USA and Gaurav Pokhariyal, Chief Operating Officer – Full-Service Business. Occasion graced by Frankfurt’s business, social, political and cultural communities. With the opening of the hotel, IHCL expands its presence in Europe and debuts the Taj brand to continental Europe.
“We are celebrating the continuation of a story that is deeply connected to this city,” said Albert Mayr in his welcome address. “With Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, we are reopening a property that has long been an icon of the hospitality landscape while reimagining it for the future. Great hotels do not thrive on their past alone; they thrive on how their future is shaped.”
Spiridon Sarantopoulos of IHCL, which operates the hotel, added, “The combination of this hotel’s rich heritage and the international stature of the Taj brand provides a strong foundation for a successful future. We aim to offer our guests an authentic Taj experience while preserving the distinct character of the former Grandhotel Hessischer Hof.”

Highlighting the significance of the opening for IHCL, Gaurav Pokhariyal said: “With Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, we are marking an important milestone in IHCL’s growth journey. Frankfurt, as a major European hub for business and culture, is the ideal gateway for introducing the Taj brand to continental Europe. We are proud to bring Taj’s signature hospitality to guests in this market.”
Among the guests at the opening celebration were State Secretary Karin Müller, former dressage rider Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff, Detlef Braun, CEO of Messe Frankfurt, and advertising icons and television presenters Nina and Julia Meise.
“We knew the Hessischer Hof from earlier years, and I am delighted by how successfully Taj has honoured and evolved the grandeur of this historic property,” said Nina Meise.

“That includes the reopening of Jimmy’s Bar. We are confident that the hotel will once again become one of Frankfurt’s most sought-after addresses,” added Julia Meise.
Guests at the event enjoyed a selection of specialties from the hotel’s signature restaurant, Bombay Brasserie, along with an oyster bar and a caviar tasting experience.
Bombay Brasserie at Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt recently received Frankfurt und Rhein-Main geht aus 2027 debuting as No. 1 in the Indian Cuisine category. The restaurant also features among “Newcomers of the Year” in Asian Fine Dining category as well as Jimmy’s Bar on the Classic Bars category.
