With the Redentore Utopia II, Venezianico deepens its Italian identity, pairing in-house mechanics with Venetian-inspired surface artistry

Two tones inspired by the reflections of the lagoon city, long familiar and personally significant to the Morelli brothers, frame the visual identity of the Venezianico‘s Redentore Utopia II. The reference to Venice is not incidental, but woven into the material and tonal choices that define the watch.
After transforming what was once considered an unattainable dream into a tangible reality, Venezianico opens a new chapter in its journey through Italian high watchmaking with Redentore Utopia II. The project marks a moment of continuity rather than rupture, building on foundations already established.
This is not a simple evolution, but a refinement on multiple levels, technical, aesthetic, and conceptual. If Utopia I functioned as the manifesto of an idea, centred on the development of an in-house movement designed and built in Italy, Utopia II reflects the point at which that idea reaches a more settled maturity.
At the heart of the project beats the V5001 calibre, the natural evolution of the V5000, produced for Venezianico by OISA and designed, like its predecessor, by Fausto Berizzi and Andrea Menegazzo, Technical Director of the Venetian maison. Its architecture remains faithful to the original, as does its underlying intent, while the level of finishing is elevated, signalling a more refined and considered stage in the brand’s technical development.
Surrounding this mechanical core is an aesthetic vision inspired by the Lagoon of La Serenissima, its perpetual motion and matter shaped by changing light. From this reference emerges Marea, the new hand-engraved dial pattern, which interprets the rhythm of water as a layered surface that shifts subtly with movement and viewing angle, maintaining a continuous visual exchange with the observer.
From Dream to Awareness: The Venezianico Redentore Utopia II

“The success of the first Utopia gave us a certainty: a Made-in-Italy movement was not an exercise in style, but a true starting point. With Utopia II, we chose not to simply replicate that result, but to push the project further, elevating the level of decoration and applying 24-carat gold galvanic treatment, so that the movement becomes not only the technical heart, but also the aesthetic protagonist of the watch,” says Alberto Morelli, CEO of Venezianico.
The V5001 retains the technical features that made the V5000 a turning point for the brand: a slim 3.5 mm thickness, a 60-hour power reserve, and precision regulated to ±3 seconds per day. Added to this is a higher-level aesthetic finishing, double-snailing wheels, bridges and mainplate treated with 24-carat gold galvanic coating, radial Côtes de Genève and fine perlage, as well as a double-anchored balance bridge with étirage finishing and a variable-inertia balance in copper-beryllium alloy, protected by the KIF Elastor® shock-protection system.
Every component, even those destined to remain hidden, is elevated to an aesthetic element, in a constant balance between mechanical rigor and artisanal sensitivity. The result is a movement conceived not only for long-term reliability, but also to be admired through the exhibition case back.
Marea: The Lagoon Engraved in Metal
The dial is the visual heart of Redentore Utopia II. The Marea motif was developed specifically for this model in collaboration with Atelier Renzetti, one of the very few workshops in the world still devoted to the art of traditional guilloché. Now led by Linda Renzetti, fourth generation of the family, the atelier engraves each dial entirely by hand on antique 19th-century rose-engine lathes, without any electrical assistance.
Line by line, micron by micron, the metal is sculpted following a slow, controlled rhythm where time seems to stand still, giving way to manual precision. The result is a dynamic surface that reacts to light and movement, evoking the waves of the Venetian lagoon and their constant transformation.
Two Interpretations, One Vision

Soft, harmonious lines, perfect balance between tradition and refinement, and an homage to the Neoclassicism of the Palladian Basilica that lends the watch its name: the Redentore dress watch in its Utopia II version is housed in a 38 mm 316L stainless-steel case with a thickness of just 8.9 mm. Ergonomics and finishing quality contribute to an even more refined appearance, synthesizing classical proportions with modern sensibility.
Beneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the hand-engraved Marea dial is offered in two versions, each interpreting a different material and soul of the city of Venice.
Alpha features a gold-toned galvanic finish, recalling the warm light of noble metals, the reflections of façades and mosaics, and the city’s most luminous and ornamental dimension. A shade that evokes Venice’s decorative heritage and artistic tradition, paired with a handcrafted black calfskin strap with natural grain.
Beta offers a dense, deep graphite galvanic finish inspired by the city’s structural materials, the color of wrought iron, railings, mooring posts, and the elements that hold Venice in balance above the water. An essential, contemporary tone that enhances the engraved dial design and its play of light and contrast, completed by a hand-finished saffiano leather strap.
Utopia as a Direction

Venezianico was born from the desire to develop independent watchmaking with a recognizable voice, rooted in Italy and engaging with the highest standards of the industry. Each project takes shape through technique, design, and craftsmanship, elements that naturally guide the creative process.
Over time, this approach has led to collaborations with ateliers, manufacturers, and masters who work according to principles of quality, precision, and respect for the time required by artisanal craftsmanship.
Redentore Utopia is the result of a journey begun several years ago, matured through the brand’s technical evolution, the development of its Made-in-Italy calibre, and the support of a community able to recognize its value. A project that today concretely guides the technical, design, and aesthetic choices defining the identity of Venezianico.
From here, the path continues with a clear goal: to become a benchmark for contemporary Italian watchmaking, investing in local talent and bringing it to international recognition.
