Renaissance Bengaluru reveals a vibrant redesign blending Karnataka’s artistry with equestrian-inspired luxury
Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel has unveiled its newly redesigned Lobby and R Bar, a transformation that blends layered Renaissance influences with the dynamic spirit of equestrian culture and the vibrant artistry of Karnataka. The refreshed spaces showcase a contemporary interpretation of regional craftsmanship, metallic accents, and blue tones drawn from the brand’s signature palette.
The revitalised lobby introduces guests to a décor narrative shaped by the world of equestrian sport. Bright colours inspired by jockey jerseys, the rhythmic stripes seen in racing gear, and the energy of the racetrack are translated into floor patterns and textile elements. A standout rug-style artwork takes inspiration from Navalgund’s celebrated handmade rug tradition, reflecting the warmth and depth of Karnataka’s weaving heritage. Paired with silver-grey detailing, the space embodies an elegant yet inviting aesthetic.
Metal elements on the reception counter, navigators’ table, and wall panels echo the refined workmanship of jockey equipment, featuring buckle- and strap-inspired accents. Soft leather touches in sofas and armchairs continue the racecourse theme with subtlety and sophistication. The lobby’s connection to Karnataka’s artistic legacy extends to design features inspired by Chennapatna toys, visible in the communal table’s form and the colourful decorative pieces placed throughout the space.
Suspended above the entrance, an origami-inspired lighting installation serves as the centrepiece of the design story. Softly illuminated and intricately crafted, the sculpture recalls the fluid lines of reins used in polo and horse riding, adding a sculptural dimension to the lobby experience.
Adjacent to the lobby, the reimagined R Bar opens as a warm, contemporary social hub. Its striking hemispherical dome—shaped to evoke a polo helmet—is complemented by soft globe lighting and an elegantly lit back bar. With seating for up to 48 guests, including alfresco options, the space offers a refined setting suited to both leisurely afternoons and vibrant evening gatherings.
The refreshed beverage programme introduces mocktails inspired by racecourses around the world, classic cocktails, city-inspired creations, craft beers, and an extensive wine selection. The updated food menu highlights globally influenced dishes such as Crab Brûlée, Lamb Pie, Confit Chicken, Finger and Buttered Sandwiches, along with an artisanal grazing board and a renewed dessert offering.
