This in-person roadshow will be the first mega-event post-pandemic and will travel to the 4 Indian cities of Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai from 07th to 11th March 2022.

Capitalizing on the massive growth potential offered by the Indian outbound traveller segment, the approximately 20-member South African trade delegation will take the opportunity to educate and enable Indian trade partners to sell the destination holistically, responsibly and safely.

In addition to experiences, representatives from accommodation establishments, destination management companies, South African Provinces, SMMEs and women-owned companies will showcase their products and services, while engaging Indian travel and trade associates.

Speaking about the 2022 edition of the Roadshow, Neliswa Nkani, Hub Head – MEISEA, South African Tourism says, “We are excited to showcase the best that South Africa has to offer and bring the destination alive for the Indian travel trade – our biggest endorsers in the market.”

She added, ” As a brand, we have big plans for India, which features on our list of top three priority markets globally. With a major emphasis on the quality of our exhibitors, the Roadshow is a testament of our firm commitment to the evolved Indian traveller who is looking for value-driven, adventurous, offbeat, diverse, and memorable experiences – all in one place!”

The Roadshow follows closely on the heels of South African Tourism’s hero-campaign in India this year, ‘More & More’.

Well-timed with the easing of international travel restrictions in India, these strategic efforts are expected to increase summer outbound traffic to South Africa and contribute to the recovery of the tourism sectors in both countries.

South Africa, which remains open to Indian travellers, is also processing tourist visas on priority to support travel.

“The pandemic taught us that the only way to do tourism is – together! We look forward with fond anticipation to meeting all our partners, friends and advocates of South Africa, in-person. Even as borders open, we are confident that this edition will be more successful and impactful than ever before in terms of business conversions,” she continued.

At present, several stop-over flights fly from India to South Africa, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways. Travellers from India to South Africa will be required to produce a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, not older than 72 hours from the time of departure from the country of origin to South Africa.
